Students and trainees are working across the system at this very minute, applying hands-on learning experiences to what they’re studying in the classroom.

  • Nursing – Hartford HealthCare started a system-wide Nurse Residency Program in August 2023
  • 6 Nursing residency cohorts preparing graduate nurses for practice each year
  • 515 Number of graduate nurses enrolled in the Nurse Residency Program since August 2023
  • 20 Nursing schools whose undergraduate nursing students do clinical rotations with HHC
  • 1,323 Number of undergraduate nursing students who rotated at HHC in– and outpatient settings

Medical School

  • 50%: Hartford HealthCare provides 50% of real-world clinician education required for UConn’s doctors in training at all levels (medical student, residency, fellowship)
  • 894: Students from other disciplines who completed clinical rotations with Hartford HealthCare
  • 53: Number of schools, colleges and universities that place students at HHC for training
