The Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) recently named Leah Goldberg, MSN, RN, to its “Emerging Perioperative Leaders Under 40” list.

“It was a lovely honor,” says Goldberg, a staff nurse at the Bone & Joint Institute at Hartford Hospital.

She received the award at the AORN Global Surgical Conference and Expo 2024. At the conference, she also represented the BJI with poster presentations entitled “The Effect of Intra-op Ropivacaine on Postop Pain in Total Hip Arthroplasty” and “Patient Outcomes in Staged Bilateral Total Joint Arthroplasty.”

“As a dedicated leader in my local AORN Connecticut Chapter 0701, it is a pleasure to help plan educational and networking events for perioperative staff to help support professional growth and best patient care,” she said. “Through participation in research and evidence-based practice projects at BJI, I am able to encourage clinical conversation, advocate for patients and disseminate the great work of our dedicated teams to improve patient care.”
